A blast cabinet is only as good as the compressor behind it. The cabinet is a sealed box with gloves, a window, a light and a gun; the gun's air demand decides whether the compressor keeps up, and the listings here range from 5 CFM at 40 to 120 PSI (VEVOR's benchtop) to 7 CFM at 90 PSI (Eastwood, by retailer figures) with the larger cabinets stating pressure and no CFM at all. The VEVOR SBC200 60-gallon ($243) is the pick for a floor cabinet with a stand, an LED, an acrylic window, 203 pounds of media capacity and a gun with four ceramic nozzles; the VEVOR SBC220BF 90-gallon with a 1.8-gallon dust collector ($440) is the one that keeps the window clear; the VEVOR SBC90 25-gallon benchtop ($130) is the only cabinet here that states its CFM; the 90-gallon red cabinet ($301) and 60-gallon cabinet ($226) are the unbranded floor units; the 90-gallon cabinet with dust collector and LED ($430) is the other collector-equipped option; and Eastwood's B40 (28 by 18 by 12-inch interior, 7 CFM at 90 PSI, 55-pound part limit, by retailers) is the named-maker benchtop. Every pick gives media capacity, air, window, doors and nozzles from its listing; the makers' manuals govern ventilation and respirators, and we add nothing to them.

How we chose
Cabinets sold in the US, judged on capacity, media capacity, air requirement as stated, window, light, doors, sealing, dust handling, nozzles and price (October 9, 2026), from Amazon listings and, for Eastwood, retailer listings of the maker's figures. These are the listings' and manuals' figures, not our measurements, and we call nothing safe; the makers' manuals carry the ventilation and respirator instructions.
Every pick in one table
| Cabinet | Size | Media | Air | Dust collector | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VEVOR SBC90 benchtop | 25 gal | 33 lb | 5 CFM at 40 to 120 PSI | Air filter | $130 |
| Eastwood B40 | 28 x 18 x 12 in interior | 25 lb | 7 CFM at 90 PSI (retailer) | Vacuum port | $360 (retailer) |

| 60 gal unbranded | 60 gal | Not stated | Not stated | Built-in exhaust | $226 |
| 90 gal red | 90 gal | Not stated | Not stated | None | $301 |

| 90 gal with collector | 90 gal | Not stated | 40 to 90 PSI | 1.8 gal collector | $430 |
Air
The gun's CFM at its working pressure is the compressor requirement, and only two listings state it: 5 CFM (VEVOR benchtop) and 7 CFM at 90 PSI (Eastwood, by retailers). A siphon gun in a floor cabinet typically draws more, and the larger VEVOR and unbranded cabinets state pressure only, which means the compressor question is answered by the gun's own label when it arrives. A pancake compressor runs the benchtop in bursts; a 60-gallon compressor (the electrical guide has its circuit) runs a floor cabinet continuously.
Dust
Blasting fills the cabinet with dust and the window goes grey in a minute without something pulling air out. The collector-equipped cabinets (VEVOR SBC220BF, the unbranded 90-gallon) pull it into a bag; the others have an exhaust port for a shop vacuum. Seal strips and sealant are in the VEVOR boxes because cabinets leak at the seams. What leaves the cabinet goes into the room, and the respirator, the media choice (silica sand is the one the makers' manuals and OSHA's abrasive blasting rule treat differently from glass bead and aluminium oxide) and the ventilation are the manual's instructions and not ours.
Media and nozzles
The guns ship with four ceramic nozzles (4.5, 5, 6 and 7 mm on the unbranded cabinets); a smaller nozzle uses less air and cuts slower. Media capacity (33 to 203 pounds) is how much the hopper holds, and the listings name glass bead, sand and aluminium oxide as compatible. The media is recycled through the hopper until it breaks down, which is when the dust gets worse.
What to skip
Skip a floor cabinet on a pancake compressor. Skip any cabinet without a vacuum or collector on its exhaust. Skip silica sand without reading the manual and the rule. And skip the gloves that come in the box as the only protection; the manual lists the rest.
Frequently asked questions
What size compressor do I need for a blast cabinet?
The gun's CFM at pressure: VEVOR's benchtop states 5 CFM at 40 to 120 PSI and Eastwood's cabinets 7 CFM at 90 PSI by retailers. The larger cabinets state pressure only; read the gun's label when it arrives. A floor cabinet wants a 60-gallon compressor.
Do I need a dust collector on a blast cabinet?
Something has to pull the dust out or the window fogs: the VEVOR SBC220BF and the unbranded 90-gallon include a 1.8-gallon collector; the others have an exhaust port for a shop vacuum.
What is the best benchtop blast cabinet?
VEVOR's SBC90 25-gallon at $130 (5 CFM, 33 lb of media, lens protectors, air filter), or Eastwood's B20 or B40 at $260 to $360 by retailer figures (7 CFM at 90 PSI, 28 by 18 by 12-inch interior on the B40).
What media can I use?
The listings name glass bead, sand and aluminium oxide for the VEVOR guns with ceramic nozzles. Silica sand is treated differently by the makers' manuals and OSHA's abrasive blasting rule; read both before choosing it.
How much media does a blast cabinet hold?
33 pounds in VEVOR's benchtop, 203.4 in its 60 and 90-gallon cabinets, 25 in Eastwood's B40 by retailers. The unbranded cabinets do not state it.
Why do the cabinets come with sealant?
Because the seams leak dust. VEVOR's listings include a pre-installed seal strip and sealant material; sealing the cabinet before first use is in the manual.
